8ball Due This Year
Mike Chambers, a product manager at Macromedia 
(now an Adobe company following an acquisition), has been slowly releasing information about the upcoming launch of Flash 8, otherwise known at 8ball. I wrote a brief synopsis of some of the improvements that will affect character animators who use the software, and little else has emerged since then. I also recommend this article over at oman3d.com regarding the 8ball highlights. The newest word is that the software will ship “sometime in the second half of this year,” according to Mike, who was quoted in this WebProNews article. I even spotted a blog article stating that it may drop late this summer!
