The Canadian broadcast network CBC and March Entertainment have
concluded the 2005 Maple Shorts Flash Film Festival, and, not surprisingly, ‘Yam Roll,’ took the top prize. Cold, Hard Flash covered the release of ‘Yam Roll’ back in June of the year, and now creators Jon Izen, Jono Howard, Daniel Sioui, and Daniel Hawes can celebrate. If you haven’t watched ‘Yam Roll’ yet, don’t hesitate - it’s one of the most unique and hilarious shorts I’ve seen this year.
Congratulations to all the entrants in the Maple Shorts Festival!

That’s some good stuff…. Really fun story and some really wacky animation. Well done!

As an Illustrator and animator, I would have to say that this series, is by far (and I mean very far) THE WORST SERIES I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!! NOTHING MAKES SENSE, CAMERA ANGLES WERE POORLY USED FRAME WORK = CRAP! PROPORTIONS ARE COMPLETELY OUT OF WACK! YOU ALL SUCK AND SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED EVEN NEAR A TELEVISON EVER AGAIN!

Poor bitter Anonymous above. Everyone in my office loves this show. One of the best elements about it is how unpredictable it is. Sometimes using different directing techniques is exactly what makes a show stand out from the rest of the mundane pack of rubbish that’s usually pitched. As a broadcaster I say WELL DONE Yam Roll crew!

That was a contest? Could of fooled me, I heard that the winner was decided before the contested was aired.
