Resfest, the touring film festival, just wrapped up a 4-night stand in Chicago. 
At least 3 Flash-animated shorts are part of the presentation, which heads off to Toronto at the end of the month. This is the first of 3 Resfest posts.
By Design is a night of screening at Resfest that “offers work reinforced by concept and imagination, including the latest from the Designers Republic, Nakd and Zeitguised, plus work from many promising newcomers.” Included is the Flash-animated music video for the mesmerizingly beautiful track ‘Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games’ by Of Montreal. It’s a surreal, free-flowing collage of character imagery, 
including bunnies, penguins and decapitated kitty cats. The video is animated by The Kangaroo Alliance, which is comprised of Craig Sheldon (Florida) Lauren Gregg (Brooklyn).
The Kangaroo Alliance seems to have a semi-permanent 3rd member in Of Montreal’s Kevin Barnes, who, besides being a musician, is also a painter. Also, check out the Kangacast, a weekly animated clip by Kangaroo Alliance. The first two feature music by Kevin - ‘How Rainbows are Made’ and ‘Rain Drops.’
