Fiore Reloads for Shoot First Campaign
Mark Fiore, a political cartoonist whose Flash animation
has been mentioned here a few times, recently teamed up with the Brady Campaign to combat Florida’s new ‘Shoot First’ law. According to the campaign, the “new law eliminates a citizen’s duty to avoid the threat, and allows the use of deadly force before other options.”
Hoping to get Governor Jeb Bush to reverse the law, Mark Fiore put together a clever Flash-animated short, complete with a nod to Dr. Seuss, that illustrates the situation from his point of view.

It’s “whose” not “who’s”, and he doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about.
I bet I could ask any of you 10 questions about the law and you wouldn’t have a clue, but that doesn’t stop people from trying to get rid of the law.

Thanks for the spelling help, Anonymous. If there is something I DON’T know I’m talking about - it’s the spellings.
I’d guess Mark Fiore probably does know what he’s talking about, but whether you agree with him or not is surely up to you.
Maybe you could explain your side of the debate more concisely, and we could try to understand your point of view. Perhaps many of us would agree with you once we’ve heard your side.

Aaron, I meant to ask you yesterday. Is this you?
I’m sure I could figure it out by reading your bio.

Hmmm…yeah, I don’t live in Florida or know anything about this law, but the idea that the law creates some sort of a paradise for gun manufacturers seems a bit illogical. Just because a law made it okay for me to shoot people without provocation doesn’t mean I’d rush out and buy a gun. I figure the people who would be excited about such a law would already own several guns…
All politics aside, though, I think it’s an effective and well put together little Flash movie.

Yes, pcdocter - that’s me. I was interviewed for that book a few years ago, and I proudly advertise for Sandro’s book in the righhand column of this site. I know his book has helped many jump into the Flash animation world.
