The Wand Conjures Up Intel Prize
AtomFilms and Intel recently picked the winners of the
Intel Indies Film Contest, which screened during the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. The Grand Prize winner was Nick Worthey, a 31-year old freelance artist from Maryland. His 4-minute Flash-animated short title ‘The Wand’ wound up granting him $25,000 in cash and $20,000 in Intel Digital Home equipment.
It’s a clever short, totally devoid of dialogue, and featuring a fun double-ending. Congrats to Nick Worthey, the runners-up and all who entered the competition.

I love reading about the contest results on here, but I always catch them when they are over and the winners are picked.
Is there a listing someplace of animation contests or film festivals with an animation category?

Great Flash animation! More proof that a good story outshines fancy visual tricks any day.
