Cartoon Saloon’s Brendan Film
Cartoon Saloon, an Irish animation studio,
is producing a feature-length project called ‘Brendan and The Secret of Kells.’ According to Tomm Moore, one of the studio’s co-founders, most of the 75-minute film is hand-drawn 2D, and they’re using Flash to create the ‘imaginatio style sequences. “We already did a test in Flash with some of the crew from Skunk Fu for those sequences and it has worked quite well to give a very different style for those times when we want to show Brendan’s imagination on screen. We will also plan to use flash for background characters and some efx,” Moore added. Also involved in the production are Belgium’s Vivi Film and Les Armateurs out of France.
You can watch a brief teaser if you navigate through the Flash website to the ‘projects’ page. I’ll keep us all updated as this projects heads towards release.
