LAFU Event Tomorrow Night
A reminder to west-coast Flash folk -
tomorrow night at 7pm I’ll be speaking at the Los Angeles Flash Users Group (LAFU). The event is being held at the LA Flash factory: 525 Venezia Ave, Venice, CA 90291. You can find a map at the Almer/Blank website. Joining me are the gang from Animax and Sandro Corsaro. We’ll also be treated to a screening of ‘Flash Goes to Hollywood,’ Silvia Pompei’s 28-minute documentary about the Hollywood Flash Character animation industry. The event is free, and there’s free booze!

Hey Aaron-
Are there going to be any events like this out on the east coast? I’m in New York City. Any idea? Also do you happen to know if the documentary will be released on DVD, or put on the internet? Just from watching the trailer I would love to see it. Thanks!

videotape the whole event and put the documentary at the end. then burn a dvd, that would be worth buying.

Great stuff! Damn, Dave Wolfe has some unnatural Flash skills. Great presentation, I learned a lot of useful tips!
The history in Aaron’s was also really interesting, those old screens of Flash and Future Splash and Cel Animator (never knew that name) were killer.
I missed a lot of Sandro’s but I’m sure it was awesome as well. Just wished we could’ve seen the documentary!

Thanks Dave!
All the presentations were great, it’s too bad the Breeze crowd missed out on Sandro’s bit, he showed some funny clips. And of course Silvia’s movie was excellent.
Hopefully by Monday I’ll have finished the web page and pdf with all the workflow tips I talked about.

Thanks everyone for the great event! From the organizers, to the sponsors to the speakers and all of you who showed up! Thank you for all the interest in “Flash goes to Hollywood”. I am trying to make it available for sale. It is currently strictly a non-profit/educational piece. Write me at info@spiral-pictures.com, so I can keep you posted! Thanks, Silvia
