Shujaat Ali’s Website
Shujaat Ali, a political cartoonist and animator 
living in Qatar, recently posted here about his new site. His Flash animation work was discussed here 4 months ago, and in the comments section, Shujaat pointed us to shujaatali.com. There you’ll find his explanation of how he wound up being a political cartoonist and animator for Al Jazeera, the Arabic language TV station. His work appears at aljazeera.com, and he’s also posted several of his favorites on his site. Also read Shujaat’s revelation that he and fellow political cartoonist Mark Fiore have struck up a friendship.
Shujaat has invited us to visit his site and asked that we use “decent language” and requested “constructive criticism.” Whether you agree with his point of view or not, let’s prove that we’re high-minded enough to respect his thoughtful request.

Hey there Shujaat,
I do dig the site, and you clearly have artistic talent. I especially like your style of cartoons and caricature.
I have a couple of recommendations on the animation side. You tend to rely on tweening a bit much, even for large pictures. Flash does not always handle these large tweens gracefully. Don’t be afraid to put an extra hand-drawn frame or two in there to add some smoothness, your art is strong enough that the end result will be worth the extra time put in.
Also, for work that you plan on animating, you may want to use a bit less detail. I think this will make you more prone to drawing more frames as well.

Hi Shujaat! Your cartoons SUCK. Why don’t you show muslims slaughtering and butchering muslims like happens in the REAL world. Blood. Heads rolling down the street. Wild eyed screaming and murder. Just look at Aljazeera for material. The Death Channel.

I think he already plays with too much horrible things, like the bloddy actions of George W Bush.
Noboby causes more bloody episodes nowadays than the liar President Bush.

Hey, love your flash animations!!!! Always make me chuckle, and then cry because they are so painfully true…However in your next video concerning the election can you please include Ron Paul, he is the only one who stands for truth and principle. Thank you!!
