Studio Camara’s Clint Teaser
Kenneth Figuerola is a Flash animator
out of Barcelona, Spain. He works out of an independent studio called Studio Camara, and he’s been hard at work on a series called ‘Clint West.’ He’s already released an episode which can be seen below, and he recently released a teaser of the follow-up episode here.
The stark, colorless style could almost be described as ‘refrigerator art.’ And notice the high drawing count - not too many symbols here. Great looking stuff, Kenneth - keep us all posted as episode 2 rolls out.
Keep tabs on Kenneth over at his blog.

Very cool! Animation needs alittle more work tho, but this is awsome!

I disagree, Steve, I think the animation is a perfect fit. I also dig the beatboxing Ennio Morricone inspired score.

I like the dramatic shadows, but I wish they were in every shot. The lighting, slow pacing, and nice sound really set the tone. The limited animation works for me.

Thanks for your feedback !!
In both episodes animation has been created by hand. In the first episode was drawn directly with a graphic tablet. In the second episode was animated on paper ( only key drawings ), then scanned and vectorized with Flash.

I have to say that one of the things that struck me about this piece was the blunt violence of it. Now im not against violence or anything like that, but this toon seemed to do something interesting.
The wanted poster seemed to make the viewer believe the first guy was the criminal, and thus when he killed people I felt sad/shocked/etc but when it is revealed that he was the hero and the townsfolk loved him all that violence suddenly seemed ok.
It was done in such a way that i cant help but wonder if you were actually trying to make a point about the relative nature of justification for violence. If so, great work. If not, great work anyway! lol.

Really nice acidic stuff!!!
i wuz just thinking that after the title in the end it wud b cool for the little kid to whip out a gun and knock off clint west off his horse…..the styling is so radical…maybe the storyline could do with a radical ending!!! but really cool stuff!!
how long did one episode take you to animate?
