Scotty Arsenault recently wrapped up a Flash animated promotional short for Cynthia Petrovic’s website tangoland.com. Cynthia is a former Warner Bros. Animation artist with credits on ‘Animaniacs’ and ‘Tiny Toon Adventures.’ Her website has helped her sell t-shirts and other merchandise branded with her iconic cat logo.

Arsenault jumped in to offer character design, layout and animation, while Cynthia storyboarded, designed characters and directed. It’s fluid and lively, helped along by the music of Royal Crown Revue, whose music was featured in the Jim Carrey movie ‘The Mask.’

Over at Arsenault’s website you can see a shot in progress, where the layout and roughs are exposed, illustrating how Flash can be used to achieve a more traditional look.
