Fatkat and Robinson Bring on the Night

posted by admin, 6.41 PM

Okay, the voice work here is probably temp, but the production design and character animation is well worth a look. It’s called ‘Night,’ and it’s a Fatkat Animation production, created and directed by Spence Robinson.

Spence Robinson created many of the backgrounds on another Fatkat production - the webisodes for ‘I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter.’

I love the artwork. This was all done in Flash? Wow, very nice use of black and white and color!

wow that’s some wicked boring animation, and it’s nice to see that disney candle is getting some more work.
    great layouts though.

    oh, symbols huh?….. yeah….

… Sorry to say this, but your taste in character design is rather lacking. This would be a bit more interesting if it has a bit of a style, otherwise, I’m not sure what I should be hyped up for? There’s a damn CG movie about a kid with a talking baseball bat… So, where’s the part I get interested. Seriously, it’s like that.

I know everyone here is a flash enthusiast that looks for all things flash animation and I’m picking anonymous because I don’t want to seem like a consistent complainer, I LOVE the stuff that’s been posted in the last couple days without saying anything, but seriously, I still think it’s pick and choose.

don’t be sorry, anonymous. crit is welcome here - and you explained yourself, stuck to your guns and didn’t resort to dropping f-bombs.

    thanks for he feedback.

I like alot of the visuals in this piece, but I think the sound design and shot selection doesn’t push the point of the spot.

    Just my two cents.

    it’s looking sexy though.

I like this piece. Lots of mood and tension present in it. There’s no reason to hide behind anonymity when posting a critique, as long as it’s an intelligent comment/criticism. I’m sure that no sane person would mind that.

  8. Anonymous Says:

poo poo– not as bad as the studio’s logo though

  9. Gene Fowler Says:

    yeah the logo sucks ass.

Maybe I should let mr.anonymous design us a new one.

care to come out of hiding long enough to design something for us?
