Kung Food – The Carrotty Kid
Behold ‘The Carrotty Kid.’
He’s a kung-fu fighting carrot (get it – ‘Karate Kid’), who battles crime in his hometown – Legume City. It’s a new Flash-animated pilot, created by Andy Fanton out of the UK. Dig on Master Che-Ri’s walk cycle.
The short is produced by the other CHF – Cosgrove Hall Films, who have been discussed here before. Andy wrote the pilot, it was produced by Jon Doyle, and animated by Mike Whaite. The Youtube episode ends abruptly, and you can see the rest of that last scene here. Also, Andy and his team have created ‘Cobbzilla: The Series,’ a Flash-animated online comic in three parts.
If you’re thirsty for more Carrot action, head over to The Carrotty Kid’s MySpace page.

I like anime an all, and this is a fun idea, but is anyone else just getting sick of martial arts cartoons? Aren’t there other genres to expoit?

I think this was good, and the character designs were good too.
With as many martial arts shows out there, im not sure there would be a need for another.

I agree with the above about martial arts shows. Especially considering what the previous post was.
Still I thought this was pretty nice. And the bad guys eyes at the end are pure Count Duckula, which is fine by me.

looks tight, great designs, great animation. Nice character too.
It’s a fun theme, true there’s too many action packed martial arts type shit on the tele, but hey, if kids keep watching them. The Networks will keep looking for them and puttin them on the air.
Gotta keep in tight with the networks and know which ones are willing to go with something new, but don’t hold your breath on that, not many are willing to stick their neck out and produce something different.. ugh.
Oh well, back to watching atomic betty, samurai jack, kappa mikey, mucha lucha………argh…
