Yam Roll Fridays?
As Jerry Beck at Cartoon Brew reported (and TV Squad too), 
we’re still awaiting the US premiere of Jon Izen and Jono Howard’s ‘Yam Roll,’ a Flash-animated series produced by March Entertainment that’s currently playing on CBC in Canada. I have it on good authority that it should start playing on Cartoon Network Friday nights as interstitials.

Anyone else see that character as a total spongebob ripoff? There’s been some interesting bad press about this show too, Google it.

I’m not really seeing it. I understood when people bashed ‘Coconut Fred’ when we produced it – there were some undeniable similarities there.
But here’s how I see it – any anthropomorphized show that gets a little antic and wacky will forever more be labeled as a Spongebob ripoff.

That shows a ripoff of Sponge Bob???
Yeah right. Next thing you’ll tell me is that The Jetson’s was a “ripoff” of The Flinstones.

I see Yam Roll as the perfect inspiration for any animator out there with an idea and the drive to produce it. I’ve only known Mr. I for a short time, but he’s one of the guys I look up to when working on my own stuff.

hey folks – I saw all these posts and felt compelled to chime in. I am guilty as charged of YR being a ripp off, but it ain’t Sponge Bob. One show to the left and you’re bang on. Costner and Whitney in one of the best movie of the 90′s–The Bodyguard. Costner was compelling …and this is well before the bad boy of R and B, Bobby Brown took his toll on poor Whitney. Thought I would clarify…sorry Jono
