Happy Groundhog Day from Joe Cartoon
Joe Shields, the creator of the seminal Flash animation series and website Joe Cartoon, has just released a new short celebrating Groundhog Day. As you may have read in the news, the groundhog did not see his shadow, predicting we will have a short spring. Joe and Kev, who animated this piece, had a different view of what happened this morning in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.

Joe was my first introduction into what Flash animation could be on the net. Yes he’s violent, but it’s violence that assists the comedy instead of actually being the comedy like Happy Tree Friends.
