Malis Reawakens with Good Morning Isamu
Jossie Malis, the artist behind the award-winning Bendito Machine, has released a new Flash-animated film. Good Morning Isamu employs the similar silhouette style seen in his previous film, and we witness a television become sentient, sprout tentacles and then get sucked into the big screen in the sky. It’s a haunting short, and one that I can imagine garnering Malis further nominations and awards.

“Bendito Machine” is awesome! A very sharp surreal critic on a lot of civilization stuff.
In this one, some details in suspense (I agree on that) are even more carefuly taken care of..
I mean.. It holds you (very “tense(ingly)” well) till the last second. But then the story “ends”.
I see it as an experimental work. He worked out some ideas of plans and time/action, so he could catch that tension and (a bit of)suspense, but then in terms of story I didn’t understand it as a whole. But then, there’s the tv screen image (when it appears), and I didn’t get it in the first place… Maby it’s like it’s returning home…
Well, anyway, I see it as a very cool experinece so he(…) would work out some very cool ideas. And the graphic work on silhuetes it’s very “spooky-good.
