Austin’s Powerhouse Animation recently teamed up with TribalDDB to animate a viral campaign for Mountain Dew. The Flash-animated short stars Darrell Waltrip and features Hanna-Barbera-inspired designs.

If you carefully watch the credits, you’ll see “Grease Monkey’s wardrobe provided by Flaven of Hollywood.” It’s an inside joke aimed at us Flash animators. ‘Flaven’ is Powerhouse’s term for an FLV, the Flash-encoded video file. Wink!I was recently at the Powerhouse office, and had a blast meeting Brad Graeber, Bruce Tinnin and Frank Gabriel along with their animation team - Doug Beck, Jason Williams, Cindy Crowell, Jennifer Anderson, Sam Deats, Louie Granda and Krishna Jain.

Powerhouse also completed some work for Greenmountain.com - a Flash-animated TV spot.
