Tyler Schroeder’s Mythunderstood
Atomic Cartoons, the studio behind Atomic Betty and Big City Birds, has been working on a new series concept. It’s called Mythunderstood and this promo below was written and directed by Tyler Schroeder. Tyler had help from Pat Pakula, Jeff Agala, Mike Gauss, Todd Ramsay, Jhun Terrones, Jon Affolter, Augusto Kapronczai and Aaron Saunders.
You should also check out Schroeder’s festival short Fowl Play (m4v file - ipod style), which he created with Pork and Beans.

The animation overall is very good, for Flash. But I cannot get a sense of what the basic concept of the show, even after watching it.

I liked the style but yeah, as andrewk said, what’s the basic concept? a lot of mythical creatures going to school, right, but I don’t think I recognized half of them…

Nice work Ty! That’s the first time I’ve seen Foul Play strung together. Looks amazing.

I liked this a lot. I recognized pretty much all of them. Big Foot, The Blue Ox from Paul Bunyan, Chupacabra, unicorn, mermaid, satyrs, a cyclops, Abominable Snowman, a witch, a ferry. I think some were meant to be recognized as specific myth characters like the Bigfoot and the Chupacabra and some were meant represent types of mythological characters like the witch and ferry. I think mythological creatures going to school is the concept.

Hell Yeah! Introduce the Ogopogo in one of your episodes. A true K-Town legend. Did you know that the Ogopogo is real? I met him on myspace.
