This weekend, MTV aired two episodes of Friday: The Animated Series - which is based on the 1995 live-action film starring Ice Cube. Below is the first episode, which was directed by Kevin Lofton, who also designed the characters.

Oh man this is bad. This sucks major. The animation is bad and the jokes are bad. Just another show that makes black folks look lazy and dumb AND GETTO.

A cartoon based on the movie, Friday??? What are they thinking?? It’s bad enough that there aren’t any good cartoons for young black kids (Sorry, Proud Family sucks, IMO, and class of 3000 is decent, but could be better). Now they want to produce a ghetto animated series….Awful!

Im sorry but I saw the cartoon and I thought it was funny! Sometimes you have to look at the humor of cartoons and not the seriousness of it. The Condaleeza episode was HILARIOUS!!! Besides, little kids shouldn’t be up watching MTV when this comes on ANYWAY. The cartoon is just like the movie….I will watch it again!

WTF I loved Fiday #1 and #2 was OK, by the time it came to number three I was like “No way Im gonna watch this pigeon shit!” Now MTV gives Friday the Animated siries a chance and I use the word animated in the most elementary form of the werd(EBONIKS). What are they trying to do with the mouths of the cartoon fux they call charachters, the fucking lips dont go with the words and the hand motions are so GD lame and retarded, it would be better if Ice Kube drew a bunch of index cards and called it animation. Three words for YA RE-TAR-DED!!! I hate to seem like a racist but I took the time to look up all the people on the KreditZ(EBONIX) and they all seem to be Black, Man I wonder why it sucked donkey Cox?? Next time you want to do anything and make it funny or scary or whatever emotion you are goin for just cast the best at what they do and disregard their fucking race and maybe you will get a siries that lasts longer than a GD sneak preview. Im no prophet like Chris T. but something tells me that this BS dont make it past 3 or 4 episodes and if it does then Ice Kube has spent all of his Friday After Next money on paying MTV to air more episodes. And why the fuck would you go all political on some shit bout South Central LA or wherever the fuck it is cause the people there only know a few things, they dont know, dont show, or dont care about anything going on outside of DA HOOD!!!!

Wow!!! This is a great/wonder show i loved it, the animations were great for the first time round, but besides that it is the best cartoon I’ve seen since the oblongs, when i saw the preview i almost had a heart attack(seriously), because i didnt get to watch it on t.v., so i went on you tube and watches all the episodes and they were great, so keep up the good work!

You always got someone that wants to hate on black people! Just because someone hates it doesn’t mean everyone has to! I thought this cartoon was halarious. The one with Condolezza Rice was too funny. I don’t particularly like cartoons, but I will definitely watch this one again

Well, no offense, but one of the problems with our black people is that they have no sense of humor, always have a chip on their shoulder. Stop being so serious, I found Friday animated very funny. Come on losen up people. I would watch this on a weekly basis. Lea T.

Perhaps everyone did not see the same thing I did but I thought it was HILARIOUS. Keep in mind, there is a certain ‘frame of mind’ that really capitalizes on the movie Friday….well the same holds true for the cartoon. I loved it to death! And, yes, I am a well educated, 6-figure earning sistah who enjoys life :-0 Kudos!!!

I love Friay and MTV thanks for extending Friday to us all; I can not wait to see more of Friday. It tells a great store of how some leave and think with a splash of funny is HILARIOUS!!!!

This show was fuuny as hell!! Is the show still on the air? It’s about time MTV show more diversity. I am tired of watching the California “white” kids and dating shows. I hope MTV didn’t buckle under the “political correctness” society place on African American shows. I know why the show do not appeal to all, but the jokes, satire, and references to stereotypes are hilarious. BROTHERS AND SISTERS LAUGH AT YOURSELF SOMETIMES, ITS A COMEDY.

This cartoon takes all the good things from the original movie and tosses them out the fucking window. Shitty voice acting, jokes that only a 5th grader would laugh at, and awful animation.
