A Death on Star Street
Terry Mynott is a 33-year old comedian living in London, and by way of a contest at 4comedy, he met an animator named Scott Mitchell. In May of this year, the two began work on one of Mynott’s scripts - a Star Wars spoof. The short wound up on the MySpace Comedy page, and the two soon heard from Comedybox, a London-based content play. Mynott and Mitchell wound up with a 12-episode order, and thus began Star St - an imaginative series the pairs Obi-Wan Kenobi with Gandalf in an apartment at 165 Star St.
As the two pushed forward on their 12 episodes, Mynott got an instant message “This is Scott’s brother. I’m sorry, Terry, I have bad news. Scott was found dead on Thursday.”
On Mynott’s MySpace page, he recounts the months leading up to Scott’s untimely death days short of his 36th birthday in a dramatic blog post. You’ll surely wonder after reading, but apparently, the cause of death is unknown. Mynott has endeavored to “not try to make sense of it.”
Terry decided to pick up the pieces of Star St, and after posting on our message boards, he was paired with a new animator - David Connolly. The show continues, and episode 6 is now live at comedybox.com. The story is both painful and uplifting, and one I surely won’t forget anytime soon.
