Jeaux says "What's important (I think) is walking away from the animation with the joke and if you "got it"
--As animation is an artistic medium that is also equally based on visual style and motion, I have to believe these things factor in to the final product as well. "but I did it fast" doesn't seem like a great selling point to assure its integrity. That is half of the problem with the animation industry these days.
If the shorts are great, which I am not disputing, maybe he could take 9 days to make them, and we would all be on the floor
...and for the record, my name really is Anonymous. My dad's name is Jeff, and my Mom's anme is Sarah. I have no clue why they did it, but it works great in this new world of blogging. LOL. OMG. ROFLMAO. G2G

I love Dan's work. I may be a bit biased because I work with both Fred and Dan, and consider them 2 of the smartest guys I've met. Dan's stuff is hilarious, Fred had the foresight to see that in Dan. What's important (I think) is walking away from the animation with the joke and if you "got it". That's really all that matters. Dan's actually a really good illustrator, check out his sketchbooks sometime. Many people don't realize that Dan pumps his shorts out in a week. Which is a hard task to do. What this shows me, these comments, is that people are talking about The Meth Minute enough outside the realm of animation that animation purists/elitists are getting slightly perturbed. It's always going to happen.
I wish people would also be willing to leave their real names as opposed to posting anonymously.
Aaron, many thanks for helping us Spread the Fred ! We really appreciate the Love.
-JX!

Sara. Johnny bravo is a sweet example of great pose to pose animation. Nice and snappy. So why wouldn't you want to expect something that good from a weekly animation produced by a big dog. As an earlier anonomous mentioned "it might not be horrible", but that doesn't make it good. "crude" animation shouldn't mean no regard for great timing, great posing. This can be done with any style of art and any content... hmmmmmm

I have to disagree with most of the comments here. I found the cartoon entertaining and it did make me chuckle at times. Personal I love the crude animation, I think it works will for weekly cartoon. Are you telling me you expected "Johnny Bravo" like animation from a weekly one minute cartoon?

I hear that! What are you doing Fred?! These shorts are not memorable at all and don't have anything solid about them. They are what they are. But what happened to them doing shorts or series that could stand the test of time because of the great characters. examples: Dexter, Johnny Bravo, Powerpuff Girls, Fairly OddParents. With these Meth shorts, I don't think many are saying "What-A-Cartoon!"

I agree. This just doesn't stack up against Jem -- flat (in a bad way), poor animation, poor drawing...

Why is the Meth Minute considered so Genius? Content=ok, style=played out, animation=weak. It's not horrible, but just wondering why it's being held in high regard
