Net10 Wireless, the pay as you go service, recently teamed up with Droga5 and World Leaders Entertainment to produce a series of animated spots. The team leads were director Mike Foran, producer Ben Stein and Matthew I. Jenkins who served as the Art Director and character designer.

Riffing on the classic 70’s Super Friends series, World Leaders assembled a unique production pipeline to attain a hand-painted cel look. The team started in Flash building pencil tests and the animatics. Then the elements were exported into Photoshop where they utilized natural media brushes to nail that painted look. These pieces were then swapped back into Flash and then out to After Effects for some aged film effects. Whew! Adobe sure got a workout on this one. Here’s three of the spots.
