In the Fall of 2007, an anonymous, depressed animator who goes by (what else?) Bitter Animator began posting humorous cartoon strips under the title My Medicated Cartoon Life. The artist writes:

I’m an animator. I draw “funny” cartoons. I have depression. I am medicated. That’s my life.

More recently Bitter Animator has taken up Flash animation, and over the course of a handful of strips, we see this artist wrestle with the software. Vacillating between “Flash rocks,” “Flash absolutely stinks” and “Flash stinks some more,” Bitter Animator covers some of the issues facing the animation industry as a whole. The strips are clever, but Bitter Animator’s “ramblings” are downright insightful.
