Olson Breaks Down Subprime Breakdown
Steven K.L. Olson, the animation director on Current TV’s SuperNews, has released his very own animated TV series. And now my head hurts, because Olson made me learn. Noooooo!
Explanotions is an animated musical series that is best explained as Schoolhouse Rock for adults. For instance, in this episode below, titled Mortgage Crisis Blues, we learn about securitization. I can confidently say I know twice as much about that loan concept as before – which was nothing.

While the animation is top notch, the subject hilarious and the direction well done the first thing I noticed was that the recording quality was excellent which is rare for Flash projects. It kind of hits you over the head like the characters are singing right behind the speaker and then it turns out the rest of it delivers as well. Great job.
