Castle Crashers, a side-scroller developed by The Behemoth, launched last August to positive reviews, but today Dan Paladin uploaded a 19-minute “making-of” screen capture of his design and animation process. In this sped-up video, we watch Paladin create the various poses and animation cycles for the Undead Cyclops Boss – all created in Flash.

I’ve been in touch with several artists over the past few months who’ve cracked open a fresh copy of Toon Boom Animate, and the reaction has been altogether strong. Same goes for Eddie Mort and Lili Chin (the creators of ¡MUCHA LUCHA! and Los Campeones), who have been putting the software’s camera to the test. Below is a glimpse at one of their multiplane shots being built, and there’s more over at their blog.

While the Esurance team may be distracted by their recent coupling with the upcoming Star Trek movie, they haven’t stopped pumping out adventures for pink-haired Erin Esurance. This latest ad, titled Mission Savings, takes Erin to the slopes – on skis. We were pretty certain she favored snow boarding, but she’s apparently fond of both. The animation is overseen by Wildbrain, and produced by Ghostbot.

Ukrainian-based shop Marcus Animation produced this Flash-animated spot for the Russian company Golden Telecom.

Cartoon Saloon, the Irish animation team behind Skunk Fu!, are finally seeing their animated feature to the screen. The Secret of Kells, co-directed by Tomm Moore and Nora Twomey, will hit Irish cinemas on March 6th (distribution by Buena Vista International), and while most of the film is traditionally animated (long live the 2D feature!), there are a number of Flash-animated shots in the film.
