New York-based animators Mike Carlo and Al Pardo are plotting to conquer the internet, and their grand scheme puts Hitler back at center stage. Odd Job Hitler is being hand-drawn in Flash and in this 1-minute teaser episode, titled Pool Boy Blues, the two have imagined an alternative history for the German ruler. A second installment is already underway, which will explain the backstory.
I am one of the many poor souls who rely immensely on the hot, brown elixir known as coffee. A recent Flash-animated Dilbert short illustrates just how important coffee is to a thriving office. Check out the original comic strip this was based on here. Animation by Powerhouse Animation.
Christopher Hamilton, one of the founders of Oddbot Inc, has released a new animated series on the web. Freaky Robots was created, directed and storyboarded by Hamilton, and he had help developing the series from F.M. De Marco, who also wrote the episodes. In these first 5 episodes, we are invited to a world in which robots are our masters, and Jeremy, a human disguised as a robot, attempts to fit in. Here’s an episode titled The Bar Fight (which includes a gang of Cell-phone Douchebots).
If you’ve followed CHF for a few years now, you’ll know that we’re nutbags about Jon Izen’s stuff – in particular Yam Roll (created along with Jono Howard and Dan Sioui) and Black and White. So you can imagine our excitement when we got wind of a new project, again created with March Entertainment. Princess Mimi and her Tiny Bud Grumpy Gus is the brainchild of Howard and Izen, who also designed and directed. Ivan Rusev added his animation skills to the mix, and voila – a brand new series concept has emerged. Whatdyathink?
Canadian animator Matt Shepherd has gone to great lengths to prove that he is a bigger fan of JB, KG and Tenacious D than any of us. Ron Doucet has brought to my attention Shepherd’s latest Flash-animated short, titled Kick It, which unofficially borrows audio from the very first Tenacious D episode, The Search for Inspirado, and brings new life to 10-year old material. To see some stills from the 2-minute project, head over to Shepherd’s blog. [NSFW - strong language]
If you like that, don’t miss his homage to Ron Burgundy.
