As we reported yesterday over at our sister website Lineboil, a new Frito-Lay Dips and Chips campaign, titled Made For Eachtother, that features animated shorts has launched. At least one of the films, which all follow the theme of “the perfect match,” was produced in Flash – Two Hearts Are Better Than One. The short, which follows a lonely magnet in search of attraction, was produced at Nexus Productions, who are certainly celebrating their Oscar nomination for Smith & Foulkes’ This Way Up.
Valentine’s Day is Saturday, and as the old saying goes, “love is in the air.” Scientifically, I believe those are called pheromones, but that’s not important right now. What is important is that Jon Izen has released a special valentines episode in his series of Flash-animated super-shorts called Black and White. This is titled Love Hurts.
If you fall prey to the giant marketing gimmick that Valentine’s Day is, your options are running out. Ordering something for your loved one online is now a FedEx situation, so you’re probably going to the mall. Or you can sit at your computer and watch stuff, and hope a gift falls onto your keyboard. Brittney Lee, an artist and animator in Northern California, jumped at the chance to help her friend Meg Campbell design an intro for her video podcast, Girlhack. The result is well designed, and may end up attracting more men than women, who I’m assuming it’s aimed at. I mean, what guy doesn’t want a stylish woman who likes Tron, Guitar Hero and Star Wars? Here’s the (nearly finished) result:
