Hiring a Flash Animator in California
Last week I put out the call to Flash and Toon Boom animators around the world – if you’re out of work, I’ll try my best to steer some job offers your way. The response was overwhelming, and that’s not good. Times are tough all over, but I see signs of recovery and I know better days lie ahead.
Today, I’m going to start with my own state – California. Believe it or not, it’s a fantastic time to be a Flash animator in Los Angeles. I received very few submissions from the City of Angeles, but there’s surely a great deal of untapped talent beyond my own swelling city. Here’s 5 of the best artist portfolios I saw from California. If you’re looking for an animator – these folks are immediately available for full-time and freelance work, and if you need email addresses for anyone, drop me a note on the contact page.
Brittney Lee – Emeryville, California
Kevin Okulolo – Davis, California
Max Graenitz – Los Angeles, California
Andy Ristaino – San Francisco, California
Sabrina Cecchini – San Francisco, USA
And check out Emily Alexander too – she’s in Los Angeles.

Aaron,
What a great initiative. I’m constantly hiring freelancers, but it’s too bad I don’t need animators right now. I’ll keep them in my list anyway!

I could get addicted to Lee’s style, awesome work there.
I love Graenitz’s reel… a bit whacked out.

Really like Kevin Okulolo’s work. Cool stuff. Watched it a couple of times. I like your colors, keep up the good work.

I loved Emily Alexander’s bit for Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid. I wish it were the whole book, not just an excerpt, her animation made it so alive.

Loved what I saw but can’t get in touch with these people. I am desperately in need of a flash animator that is affordable. I am a self published writer and have a project of a audio book trailer (I supply all the illustrations, the narration, just need someone to do 20 little scenes not complicated to illustrate my audio)
could you help?
thank you
regards
Emmanuelle
