Xilam and Toon Boom Birth Mr. Baby
Paris-based Xilam Animation recently embarked on a new all-digital 2D production. Mr. Baby (or Mr. Bébé) stars a 15-month old baby “who thinks, reads and talks like a grown-up.” A team of 20 tackled the 48 episode order, which is currently airing on France 3 in their Toowam block. Xilam chose an all-Toon Boom pipeline, boarding in the extremely popular Storyboard Pro and then importing directly to Harmony. Read more about the production at toonboom.com. I like a lot of what Xilam does. Mr. Baby, is as they say: “about a 15-month-old baby who speaks with the sharpened mind of a “50-year-old misanthrope.”

What is it about the french’s cartoony-sensibilty?
Such eye catching colours, design and fluid animation. Best show idea and design i’ve seen recently from 2d.
