I might be the idiot here, but I think I would watch at least half of these movies if they came out. Well, as long as Dan Meth was directing. On the eve of the new Transformers movie, enjoy Dan’s Flash-animated Toy Movies short.
Here’s a trailer for SCAD-grad Drew Newman’s upcoming Flash-animated film, The Klare Project. Newman describes it as “a five minute film about a young woman struggling to survive in a post apocalyptic world, and retain some shred of femininity as she faces each encounter with brutish determination.” Newman is utilizing Flash for some rather “full” animation as well as the effects, and Photoshop for layouts.
Ajay Karat turned me onto a new Flash-based game the other day – Little Wheel. It’s from One Click Dog, a Slovakian-based company, and they stylish game play includes some well-animated cut-scenes. This walkthrough of the game includes spoilers….
YouTube in Japan is currently featuring this touching Flash-animated short titled Sarumomo, which is apparently the first episode in a series. An artist named Takumi K. created characters based on concepts by his daughter, and he used Flash, After Effects and Painter in the production.
Recent MassArt grad Jamie McKiernan has released her senior project on the web. It’s animation set against the voices of his relatives – in the vein of Aardman’s Creature Comforts. It’s titled Off the Path, and McKiernan used Flash for animation, and the backgrounds we painted with watercolors.
