When I worked at JibJab, one of the funniest people in the building was Andy Ochiltree. Between his production management duties, he was just getting his first opportunities to display how damn funny he was. Today, Andy is the director of development at JibJab, and he’s helping make stuff like this Starring You short, Jowls!, which spoofs the original Jaws movie. That’s Andy providing the voice-over, and I suspect he had a hand in writing it too. For more on Andy, check out this interview here.

Well, another San Diego Comic-Con is upon us. I am driving down the coast here in a few hours to hit preview night, and I’ll surely drop by the Ghostbot booth (#4203), at which time I will begin grilling them about this new original property – Little Lost Ghost. It stars Miss Fit, a mysterious character searching the galaxy for her way home.

The team at Powerhouse Animation have confirmed what we all know… computers have taken all the hard work out of the process. Since the advent of the “animate” button, it’s all a long lunches and short weeks! I wish. This new Flash-animated short How Powerhouse Works takes a tongue in cheek look at the process:

Back in 2004, Dave Jeser and Matt Silverstein created Drawn Together, which is currently being turned into a feature-length movie – in Flash no less. Aside from this Comedy Central series, another Viacom network has picked up and begun airing DJ & The Fro, a Flash animated series being produced at Titmouse, Inc. The series follows two cubicle jockeys who pass their workdays trading viral videos. Dave and Matt were given a 20 episode pick-up, and asked to produce it in record time. Subsequently, MTV launched a series of web exclusive videos, and below are a few which take us behind the scenes of the production. Big thanks to Ronald Lanham Jr for the story tip.
