Australia’s Adam Phillips (Brackenwood series) recently teamed up with writer/voice actor Ryan Miller on a new short for Wizards of the Coast. It’s titled Lady of Pain (referencing the D&D character), and in this short our host Mike tries to win her cold hand in a skill challenge. Phillips used Toon Boom Storyboard Pro and Toon Boom Animate Pro.
When I worked at Warner Bros. Animation, I could count on one hand the number of people who followed sports. I was one of the few, and a producer I worked with, Andy Feinstein, was another. Well, Andy is more than a sports fan – he’s the co-creator of a syndicated comic strip called Girls & Sports. And recently, he and Justin Borus have been co-writing and producing an animated series for Fox Sports. The King and Us, which is sponsored by Burger King, is animated by Matt Wilson, Bryan Young and Adam Rosette, and the voice work is supplied by Eric Bauza and Matt Danner. In this episode, my Detroit Lions are dragged through the mud.
You’ve played Beatles: Rock Band – and pretened to be one of the greatest bands of all time. And what’s even better than that? Well you’ll have to watch and find out. It’s I Can’t Believe It’s Not Beatles: Rock Band – the latest Harry Partridge short, produced for BBC Comedy.
The latest episode of Simon’s Cat, titled Hot Spot, isn’t terribly long, but we’ll cut creator Simon Tofield some slack. He’s been busy making his book, which hit the shelves earlier this week. It’s available at Amazon in the US, amongst other places. I suspect we’ll be seeing Simon’s Cat in the comic section of the newspaper here very soon as well.
New York’s Robert Powers directed this Flash-animated music video for Moby’s new track Mistake. It’s off his new album Wait for Me, and the lead characters Little Idiot and Dog are designs Moby himself has been drawing for years. Powers and his crew, which included animators Justin Simonich and Chris Timmons, animated in Flash and then brought it all into After Effects for lighting, effects and camera moves.
