UK-based Alex and Gemma Wilmott have realized what so many fail to understand about Flash – it can be used to create traditional animation. It can be used to create rotten garbage, but there’s nothing stopping an artist from creating frame-by-frame animation. Over six months, the Wilmott’s produced this short below, title Squish.

Titmouse Inc’s Edward Artinian directed and animated this spot below, which promotes the new Brutal Legend video game from Electronic Arts. The heavy-metal game features the voice and likeness of Jack Black, who plays a roadie charged with saving the world, and here he joins the cast of Metalocalypse. The spot was created to play during the Dethklok Tour 2009, which wound down last week. Most of the scenes in the spot were animated in Flash, while lighting was handled in After Effects.
Inginuity is invaluable when you’re confronted with a stinky, oversized, cyclops baby – especially for Fuggy. The latest Flash-animated short from the Brothers McLeod series is out, and it again features animation from Tom Evans. This latest batch of Fuggy Fuggy episodes is produced by Mondo Media.
Twilight: New Moon came in third this weekend at the box office (clarification: third biggest opening of all time), but, unlike the rest of the media, we still think it’s worth talking about. And so does the crew at SuperNews!, who bit into this Hollywood-centric parody about a city obsessed with vampires. It’s titled Vampires: Hollywood Bloodsuckers, and SuperNews! airs on Current 11pm / 10pm central.
