In the wake of the W!LDBRAIN office closing, Phil Robinson and his new company Special Agent Productions have gotten off to a strong start up in San Francisco. Along with co-founder Amy Capen, Robinson has been hard at work on the Flash-animated Esurance campaign, which has been all over the ol’ telly these days. Here’s the most recent spot, titled Hidden Camera, which was produced in conjunction with Ghostbot.
The cat is back and the pimp hand… errr… paw is aimed and ready. By way of the Mondo Mini Shows network, here’s the latest episode of Alan Foreman’s Flash-animated series Cat Slap, titled Batter Up.
The Brothers McLeod have a great knack for switching things up. They can knock out a half-dozen comedic episodes of Fuggy Fuggy, and then turn to more serious, thoughtful material like The Moon Bird, “a dark fairytale about an orphan girl.” It’s their latest film, a 15-minute short funded by the UK Film Council, Screen WM and CHANNEL 4. Here’s a 1-minute trailer:
Based in Singapore, Ratloop Asia was behind this new Flash-based puzzle/action game that’s made a big splash in the gaming industry. It’s called Rocketbirds: Revolution, and it was created almost entirely in Flash. Some of the character animation is clunky, but then you’ll spot certain stuff that really works. I also think the design is world-class. You can play a free demo of the game online.
Felix Colgrave, who lives on the island of Tasmania in Australia, has submitted a rather epic Flash-animated short to Newgrounds, titled The Pigpen. It’s an abstract story dealing with drug addiction, and it’s the result of 6 months of work during his studies at The Don College in their Digital Media section. Thanks to Ajay Karat and Sean McKenzie for the story tip.
