As promised last month, Steve Smith’s BBC Comedy Extra series Stuffed would be spawning regular episodes. Here’s the second one, titled Circus. All animated in Flash at Smith’s old studio Richard Barnett at Trunk.
We’ve featured a number of Matt Shepherd’s 11 Second Club entries here, but not his submission from last June. This entry followed his winning piece for the May competition, and he backed it up with a solid 6th place. All animated in Flash, traditionally.
Curtis Carey introduced Milo, the talking orange cat, back in November of last year, and now Milo has his own video blog. If you’ve been following the goings-on over at YouTube, the vlogger sensation continues to grow, launching scores of talking heads towards internet fame. There haven’t been too many animated vloggers though, aside from Some Grey Bloke. So here’s Milo’s take on the Tiger Woods Nike Ad that premiered last week.
San Francisco Chronicle editorial cartoonist Mark Fiore has just become news himself. He hauled in a Pulitzer Prize yesterday for his Flash-animated shorts, which he releases at a furious clip. The prize committee celebrated his “biting wit, extensive research and ability to distill complex issues set a high standard for an emerging form of commentary.” Have a look at his online entry mini-site.
Fiore follows in the footsteps of Walt Handelsman, who took home the Pulitzer in 2007 for his Flash-animated shorts.
The second episode of Larkmart earned a “Daily 1st Place” last week over at Newgrounds, and a top 5 for the week. I’ve been a Newgrounds member since 2001, so that was a pretty cool milestone. Then today on the 1st episode of the NG Review Show (below), Sale Price was voted Best of the Week by hosts Levi and Darrin. Big thanks guys, for including me in your show!
