Hot Couture is Lee Ann Dufour’s graduation film from her studies at Sheridan College. It’s a musically-driven, Flash-animated piece that relies heavily on production design and strong poses, as there isn’t an abundance of animation. Set 1,000 years in the future, we meet Geraldine and Coraline, who are competing for the title of Miss Divine 3050.

Piece of Cake is Eliza Ivanova’s 3rd year film from CalArts, and it was likely a key factor that led to her internship at Pixar. It’s a food fight, of sorts, and it’s based on a true story Eliza’s father shared with her. The short won the Walter and Gracie Lantz Award at last year’s Producer’s Show, and to my knowledge, it hasn’t been available online until now. Ivanova, who just graduated, produced all of the animation in Flash – traditionally.

The latest episode of Sticks, of the many Flash-animated series created by the Brothers McLeod, follows Constable Sergeant on a the trail of some criminals. The series is being produced for BBC Comedy Extra, and animation was handled by Tom Evans.

The UK-based team at Kilogramme used a very unique process to create the lively and fluid character animation in this new PSA. The blue-skinned cold caller in the ad, which warns against distraction burglars who ring your doorbell, was first animated by Christian Johnson in 3ds Max, and then inked and painted by Gill Biddle and Sam Jones in Flash. The rest of the spot was animated by David Ridges, Claire Grey and Craig Knowles, who also designed the production. BGs were handled by Chris Coady, and the ad was directed by Jon Turner.
