Luciana Eguti and Paulo Muppet at Brazil’s Birdo Studio directed this new global warming short. It was submitted for a contest organized by the Brazilian environmental office, and it ended up winning the top prize. The short is titled Box:

Our friends at Catsuka tipped us off about a new Flash-animated project emanating out of France. It’s a comic book trailer for the latest issue of Zblucops, a property created by Bill and Gobi (Benoit Boucher and Baptiste Gaubert). The two had animation help from Balak, Fafah Togora and Fabien Mense.

The Nathan Love studio directed this new Thanksgiving-themed spot for NBC, using this throwback peacock style first introduced this summer. Ryan Moran served as animation director on the project, using Flash for animation, as well as Autodesk Maya.

Earlier this year, Gabe Swarr laid Big Pants Mouse to rest. It’s a property he’s been working on for years, and I think it even went to pilot at Disney years back. The latest incarnation was as a comic strip on dummcomics.com, the daily comics website that he co-founded. Replacing Big Pants Mouse is Swarr’s newest project that he calls Life in the Analog Age. It features a limited color palette and myriad stories from his early childhood. Being a talented animator (and he’s also the Supervising Director of Kung Fu Panda: The Legends of Awesomeness for Nickelodeon), Swarr has turned a few of the stories into animated shorts. Here’s a few of my favorites:

Siggi Orri Þórhannesson produced this Flash-animated title sequence for the 2010 Icelandic film titled Kóngavegur (King’s Road). It’s about a son’s homecoming that doesn’t turn out quite like he’d expected.
