I’m a bit over-run this week by stuff I wanna post about, so forgive me for this video dump post. Five new Flash-animated shorts below, and the last two are Halloween holdovers…
Fred Figglehorn, or as he’s known on YouTube, Fred, has risen to immense popularity, both on TV and the web. He’s the creation of Lucas Cruikshank, and the Nickelodeon premiere of Fred: The Movie drew in a whopping 7.6 million viewers. I liken the character Fred to Steve Urkel or Gilbert Gottfried – we love to hate them. The latest creation to come from the Fred franchise is a Flash-animated music video created by Nick Bachman and Ben Bury. The track is titled Tater Haters:
Over 3 years ago, we posted a clip from Louis de La Taille’s Flash-animated short Un Grand Garçon (A Big Boy). This 4:30 minute short follows a young boy who is on the verge of becoming a young man, in more ways than one. The short has been finished for quite some time now, but it has been touring in competition, so the official online release has been delayed. [NSFW - female nudity]
By way of Tandem Films, Jeroen Jaspaert recently animated a spot for Feliway, a company that makes synthetic copies of pet pheromones to help them feel safe and secure. This spot below ran on British television in the run-up to Halloween and Bonfire Night, when there’s often a bit of neighborhood chaos and fireworks that scare pets. Jaspaert used Flash in a traditional way, drawing frame-by-frame.
When I buy hiking shoes, I’m not terribly concerned about animal urine. However, in the case that a platypus or a lion decides to micturate upon my footwear while I’m out in the bush, I now think I’d feel most comfortable wearing a Camper product. This “viral” spot was created by the agency Swing Swing, while the gang at Madrid-based Ink Apache handled the Flash animation. Javier Almazan served as the Art Director, and Rogelio Folgueras was the Lead Animator.
