If you’re gonna do merch, which is a very tough business with often overestimated potential, take a page from Harry Partridge’s sales book (or Andy Sykes’). Peabo, one of the most talented conspirators at Weebls-stuff.com, has surely been evolving as an artist. His work, like the short Cucubmers, stood out in 2006 from the rest of the work on the site, but watching this new one below illustrates a leap in design and layout. The song is titled Moustaches, and my favorite line is “My moustache was cut by lasers, looks so sharp avert your gazes.” But don’t avert your gaze – this one is rocks:

Here’s a new Flash-animated piece from Johnny Utah, which has been lighting it up over at Newgrounds.com. It’s a “banned commercial” for the new video game Marvel vs Capcom 3, which arrived last month.

Puny Entertainment provided the animated magic for this Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory spoof. Initiated by CollegeHumor’s Ben Joseph, the comedy short is a rather elaborate, 4-minute send-up of the Apple mistique. We’re introduced to Steve Jobs, standing in for Willy Wonka, who lets a few lucky consumers into the Apple kingdom. Secrets are revealed and songs are sung in Charlie and the Apple Factory.
