Season 3 of Dick Figures just turned into a sausage-fest. Guys night brings out the macho side of Red, Blue and their poker buddies, resulting in a manly game of one-upsmanship. Fire up the barbeque and light a cigar – it’s Real Dudes Bros Night Man.
In association with Comberry Studios, Shanghai-based artist Daniel N. Djanie, wrote and directed this 11-minute, Flash-animated proof of concept titld Santaman – The Patron Saint of Justice. It re-imagines the Santa Claus origin story, establishing him as more of a Batman-esque superhero. Djanie worked with a small, enthusiastic team who essentially worked with zero budget. Some of the dialog is clunky, and could use some comedic one-liners, but overall it’s designed quite well.
Josh Faure-Brac (SuperNews!), in a co-production with AOL and Mark Burnett, has created CliffNotes, an irreverent animated version of the thankfully thin literary guides. In the 8-minute episode below, which condenses A Midsummer Night’s Dream, we meet Cliff, who walks us through the basics of Shakespeare’s classic, which most of us were introduced to by way of the 2002 film A Midsummer Night’s Rave (actual movie).
There’s a Weebl’s Stuff game set to drop this month, that sets gameplay amongst some of their more popular Flash-animated shorts. In this trailer for Russian Dancing Men, you’ll spot favorites like Crabs, Badgers, Magical Trevor, Amazing Horse and of course Weebl and Bob. They’re making it for iPhone and iPad, but also Android down the line.
