CalArts-trained animator/designer Ashley K has put Flash through the traditional-animation paces for a new car ad. By way of SDF-1, Ashley’s work helps promote the Toyota Toyotag, a way to connect with Toyota from a smartphone.
After producing dozens of strips and 20 animated shorts, Gabe Swarr is releasing a Life In The Analog Age collection. The 100 page book includes a forward by Jorge Gutierrez, and many pages of new material for the super fan. The book lists for $11.99, and here’s what amounts to an ‘unboxing’ video:
Dan Meth takes us backstage at an OutKast show in his latest animated short. Meth has teamed up with Pitchfork.com to produce a new series titled Frames, and the first installment is narrated by OutKast’s Big Boi, who recalls his wildest tour story:

Following his videos for Kyle Kinane, Jackie Kashian and Myq Kaplan, 6PH’s Greg Franklin has created a new short with Wyatt Cenac (The Daily Show). Cenac drops us off at Medieval Times, the party place that will apparently soon be serving Funyuns and 40s. The clip was pulled out of Cenac’s performance DVD Wyatt Cenac: Comedy Person, which dropped back in August.
