The 39th and final episode of Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law, airs this Sunday night. The Death of Harvey will air at 11:45 pm/ET on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, ending one of the more successful Flash animated series on air. According to a recent interview with series creators Michael Ouweleen and Erik Richter, the show was originally intended to go 10 episodes, but 6 years later Turner Studios if finally wrapping up the production. Congrats to CHF members Steve Vitale and Les Harper and to the rest of the crew in Atlanta. We’ll close out the series with an homage to Birdgirl, assembled by animation director Steve Vitale:
Jayson Thiessen, the talented animator behind Chubby Dee (MOV), spent much of 2006 co-directing Pucca at Studio B for Jetix Europe. The title sequence for the Flash-animated series was storyboarded by Thiessen and Tim Packford and then brought to life by Jos Humphrey. Mars Incorporated, the parent company of the candy brand Skittles, has partnered with the social networking site Bebo to announce a user-generated cartoon competition. The site offers an animation tool, loaded with Skittles themed assets. For inspiration, the Skittles team brought aboard Greg McLeod, one half of the UK’s Brothers McLeod, to produce a series of micro-shorts for the website – goskittleyourself.co.uk. The first is titled Yellow Belly.
