Anca Risca at Nathan Love recently directed a pair of Flash-animated spots for Sweet’N Low. The animation team was comprised of Brian Muelhaupt, Maasa Kuwana-Muelhaupt and Pasquale Ricotta.
Pencil Test Studios recently completed a series of spots for Public Storage, the Glendale, California-based self-storage team. The crew, based in Orange County, CA, used Toon Boom and After Effects to bring the stick-figures to life:
Animators – you might want to put a LoJack on your animations, because Toyota Motor USA seems to be in a stealing mood. I’ll let JibJab’s official complaint for damages explain why:
“Toyota recently ran a commercial promoting its 2011 President’s Day sale, which incorporated elements identical (to) and/or substantially indistinguishable from JibJab’s Founding Father’s Rap and Starring You Tap Dance videos.”
The TV spot in question was produced by Hoffman Lewis, who simply shoulda known better. The whole dancing president thing certainly feels JibJab-esque, but wait until the end for the little “Ends Soon” tag – it’s a blatant rip. Watch for yourselves, ladies and gentlemen of the jury….

Miki Cash at Bristol-based WÖNKY Films recently directed a series of 17 interlinking shorts for Capital One’s Credit Made Clearer campaign. The WÖNKY team chose Flash as their animation tool.
Vancouver’s Anik Rosenblum designed and animated this new TV spot for Eskaton, an organization providing services to seniors. The ad was produced out of Dancing Line Productions, the studio founded by Rosenblum, who animated the ad traditionally in Flash. The spot is titled Live Well.
