As reported back in June, BoBo&ToTo are back. Released only a few days ago, the latest Flash-animated episode from the panda and chicken duo, ‘Swallowtail Butterfly,’ is top notch stuff. Sure it’s a 26mb download from a slow server, but once you get an eyefull of the Fish Railcar, you’ll be glad you waited it out.

Jamie Mason (or Hobo Divine) is a seasoned animator who hailed from Sheridan College in 1991. He won awards for his original work, in particular for his 6 minute short ‘The Magic of Anansi.’ He worked on one of the original Flash animated TV shows, ‘Mucha Lucha,’ and has since worked on the ‘Ren & Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon’ project.

In 2004, he produced an album called ‘Magic Super Blast,’ and he’s also been hard at work updating his blog and producing a music video for his album. A short tease can be seen below.

You should also take a gander at Jamie’s unfinished, animated take on Sylvia Plath’s poem ‘Daddy.’

Jamie is listed as one of the directors at JC Little’s company Little Animation. His reel on that site includes this fun little short (MOV) featuring a talking planet Earth.

I have no idea what’s going on over at Hanakero.com, but I still can’t stop watching. So far, I know that the Flash animated short featured on their homepage takes us to some sort of frog universe (or maybe I’m even wrong on that) and a teapot is somehow involved. Can anyone help translate?

I’m out this whole week on vacation, submitting pre-written posts remotely, but I wanted to give a nod today to my home, the good ol’ US of A. It’s an especially important day for me, as July 4th is the anniversary of the day I met my wife.

On this great day, I think we should all take another look at Brad Graeber’s ‘Captain Capitalism,’ a Flash-animated series that was featured here back last November. I recommend starting with episode one, ‘To Bleep or Not to Bleep,’ and then having a go at ‘Piggy Bank Pinko.’

It’s officially BoBo&ToTo month! Only six days after posting about ‘Breath,’ there’s more BoBo&ToTo news on the way. It appears as if July 3rd will be launch of a new short called ‘Swallowtail Butterfly,’ that looks more elaborate and dramatic than any before it.

The production team at B&T Studio have released a teaser promoting the launch which can be seen over at XXBT.com.
