Kevin Okulolo, a student at UC Davis, just wrapped up 6-months of production on his second Story of Khale episode. About a year ago, we featured episode one, and noted his warm reception at Newgrounds.com. This episode, titled Hooked, follows our hero, Khale, through his morning routine on the way to school. Doesn’t sound like much upon retelling, but give it a watch, and you’ll see why Okulolo is one of the more promising young animators around.

An all-star team of animators took on a recent promotional campaign for a new online games website. Allgirlarcade.com is a project initiated by Fuel Industries, an Ontario-based Branded Entertainment company. The site is now host to All Girl Star Squad, a new gaming property featuring “a trio of female videogame champions who are recruited by a rag-tag team of aliens to help fight against a deluded fire queen.” The site will feature games, a “mall,” networking and webisodes. Hopefully they all look as beautiful as this clip below. Jessica Borutski designed the characters, which were brought to life by Jamie Gallant and Max Chiasson. Ben Reynolds added background designs and props, while Scott Dobbs helped on the painting front.
