Alan Smithee’s action-packed, sci-fi adventure series Akumi is back. Episode 3, titled Conspiracy & Capture, clocks in at a whopping 9-minutes and it’s as racy as ever, with jiggling and gratuitous crotch shots. The action is hot and heavy too, with an abundance of beautifully choreographed fight scenes. And in this episode, we meet a new character, Miltonius, who is surely an homage to Smithee, who provides the voice acting for this dark addition to the cast.
Pool’s Primal Instinct Productions is currently preparing for episode 4, which will be the last episode on the first DVD, due out later this year. Hats off to the crew: Dave Johnson, Dustin Remmel, Milton Pool and Tyree Dillihay.
Back in late October of 2006, Alan Smithee’s elaborate Artix vs. The Undead, which was commissioned by battleon.com, rocketed to the top of the YouTube ratings, racking up almost 500,000 views. Concurrently, the film has also been screened 450,000 times on Google video.
The action-heavy short is based on DoomWood from the extremely popular DragonFable RPG, and it was promoted on battleon.com, one of the top 1,000 websites in the world.
If you’ve been following this site, you may have watched Smithee’s Akumi series. The second episode just released last month.
Akumi, the violent, sexually-explicit new series from Alan Smithee is on to episode 2. After a controversial first episode (scroll to comments) , this series is really kicking into gear. It’s packed with action, excellent special effects and a great cliffhanger that will leave you anxious for the third installment, now slated for March.
The jiggling and wiggling of the various females got a bit tired by the end, and I wasn’t terribly thrilled with the lead actresses’ vocal performance, but the overall production values in this second installment (top-notch music and sound design) more than made up for any shortcomings.
Smithee is joined by Tyree Dillihay, David Johnson and Dustin Remmel who all elevated their games for this one. A beautiful and breathtaking production, fellas.
A few years back, Atom Films released ‘Soybean,’ a Flash-animated sci-fi short by Alan Smithee. It’s wall-to-wall action, beautifully animated and full of hot, voluptuous, scantily-clad women. Or maybe they’re not women, but they sure do bounce like women.
Two years later, Smithee has released a new short called ‘Akumi,’ which bears many similarities to ‘Soybean.’ It’s packed with gorgeous, fully-animated action, and a voluptuous, scantily clad woman. The only difference here is that ‘Akumi’ features graphic nudity and a violent rape scene that you probably don’t want to watch at work.
Here’s a quote lifted from the production company message boards:
I wanted to create an extremely sexual, violent and action-packed film. I didn’t want it to hold back in any way with the extreme content and visuals. And yes, I wanted to shock people.
Well, it worked. I went from mouth agape at the beauty of the animation, layout and designs (and that cool blood effect) to mouth agape at the level of sexual content included in the second half.
The goal is to find funding for ‘Akumi,’ and turn it into a full-time project, complete with a DVD release. Thinking ahead, there’s already been mention of a ‘censored version’ of the project.
Dustin Remmel wrote the outline script and David Johnson added sound effects.
