Remember the Brothers McLeod’s The M Man? It was served up in 3 parts last year, but I just got word from McLeod headquarters that the full project has now been released as a single film, viewable below. I also heard from a little bird that their Fuggy Fuggy series, which was acquired by MTV, may be hatching a second episode any day now.
The Brothers McLeod, working
under their Spark & Zoom Productions banner, have delivered a holiday treat to the fine people at The Change Works, a UK-based company that specializes in operational change programs (wha?). The Flash-animated Holiday Greeting is titled Snow? and it features a McLeod signature – heavily-stylized and detailed vector characters against inventive, hand-painted BGs. Happy Holidays!
After being announced here on CHF last month, Spamland#1 blitzed across the web. It was picked up on boingboing, Drawn and Crunchgear, and then went onto grace the almighty YouTube Homepage.
So what do The Brothers McLeod do for an encore? An epic! That’s what Spamland#2 turned out to be, clocking in at over 2 minutes of extremely creepy, nonsensical delight.
The Brothers McLeod show no signs of letting up this year. Having burst onto the YouTube scene only weeks ago with their front-page hit Spamland, they’ve returned with two more clips well worth watching.
First up is a music video for the alternative band Breezer out of the UK. Greg and Myles offer up a re-telling of the Brothers Grimm tale The Elves and the Shoemaker. The song title is I’m Just Badly Misplaced.
Second is what Greg calls “an advert for a doctor who cures sureal and nonsensical ailments.” It’s called Dr. Fish, and it was recently picked up by G4TV here in the states.
Back in December of 2005, the Brothers McLeod
teased us with a sneak peak at ‘The M Man.’ He’s their quirky Flash-animated superhero, who “embarks on a mission packed with paper mache barbeques and crop dusting equipment.”
It’s a staggered release, with part 1 out now, and parts 2 and 3 coming within the next 10 days.
You also know ‘Fuggy Fuggy,’ the Brothers McLeod’s hysterical pint-sized ninja who’s reportedly waiting in the wings with his own fresh installment (more info on that in a bit).
According to the Nicktoons Network Animation Festival website, the brothers are represented by Aardman Animations as commercial directors.
