Here’s a bizarre Flash-animated compositing project from the German gang at storyboards.de titled Innerer Irrer, which I believe translates into “crazy in the head.”
I think the message at the end translates into “Find your internal madness.” Help anyone? It was animated by Nadine Redlich - a 24 year old student attending FH Düsseldorf.
Max Lang, a German student at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, has created a beautiful parable about fitting in, conformity and the power of independent thinking. Modul is a 4-minute Flash-animated short without dialog, but the message comes through loud and clear - complete with exceptional timing and engaging sound design. Lang and the film’s producer Stina McNicholas have created a highly enjoyable short that will likely land many international awards.
I hadn’t uttered the phrase German Hip Hop since 2000, when I enjoyed a brief fascination with Deichkind, who brought the world Komm Schon:
But now, behold Stone Deaf Production, or SDP as they’re known in Berlin. Alexander Gellner, a German illustrator and animator recently completed their latest 3-minute music video for a song titled der Anfang anzufangen. It’s not your typical Flash-animated video - Alexander used frame-by-frame animation mixed with stop-motion and collage to arrive at a real unique piece.
Head over to the CHF message boards to read more about Gellner’s work, and he’s collected a great deal of pre-production materials on his blog. And head to MySpace for more from SDP.
One last thing - SDP seem to be big animation fans. Here’s another SDP video that very well may have been animated in Flash. Alexander - any truth to this?
