Dan & Jason Give Flight to Animated PPL Spot

Hornet Inc’s directing duo Dan & Jason have just delivered a new spot for PPL Electric Utilities. The ad, titled Birds, was drawn in Flash, however the team used the software as an ink and paint tool, animating ‘traditionally’ as you’ll see below. The line work was also run through a texture mask to give it a pencil line quality. The animation on the spot was handled by Mike Luzzi and Mark Pecoraro.

On the heels of developing their Office Buddies series with 20th Century Fox, the animation directing duo known as Dan & Jason have revealed their latest creation – Man Team. It’s a Flash-animated buddy comedy that mixes in a political slant, skewering the likes of Herman Cain. They had help on the short from animators Keelmy Carlo, Alan Foreman, Mike Luzzi, and Mary Varn.

Following up on their confused.com spots from 2010, Hornet Inc’s directing duo Dan & Jason have produced yet another musical-style animated spot. This one revolves around the Diana Ross track Chain Reaction, and is no less ambitious than the previous ads.

Hornet Inc’s directing duo Dan & Jason recently delivered a series of new, animated spots for confused.com, a UK-based price-comparison insurance company. All character animation in this ad, titled Somebody To Love, was done in Flash and then the team composited the piece in After Effects. The lead animator on the job was Mike Luzzi, and full credits are below:

Dan & Jason Win Maryland Lottery Campaign

Hornet Inc’s Dan & Jason recently tried their luck in the realm of lottery ads. Along with animator Alan Foreman (Cat Slap), they created a series of Flash-aniamted spots for the Maryland Lottery featuring voicework from real lottery winners. The campaign was initiated by the agency GKV, and below is the spot titled James:

Hornet Inc’s Dan & Jason recently helped AT&T share an emotional message for a nation in need of a pep-talk. The twosome’s direction paints a portrait of our ability to overcome difficult times using the metaphor of a stock market line graph. Below is the ad, titled Timeline, which was overseen by BBDO, and animated by Alan Foreman (Cat Slap).

Santa Maria Blankets the Web With Blog Smog

Hornet Inc’s Santa Maria (a twosome consisting of Josh Goodrich and David Hill), recently chewed through a new viral spot for Dentyne gum. The result of their work is a 1-minute, Flash-animated short titled Blog Smog for Dentyne’s Make Face Time campaign. And of course – they’re ganging up on me and my fellow bloggers. While we may disregard our hygiene here and there, we’re curing people of the horrible scourge of boredom, dammit! The ad, which was produced for the McCann-Erickson agency, was animated in Flash and composited in After FX.
