New Zealand-based animation studio Mukpuddy is back with a second season of Sparkle Friends, due to air soon on New Zealand TV. Channel Frederator has announced an exciting new animation project with a clever name – FredEx.
It’s an experiment in animation colloboration that challenged filmmakers from around the world to produced 10-20 seconds of animation on a common theme. The first installment is ‘Robots,’ and iPod-ready episode is available for download now (NSFW).
The shorts were produced in a variety of formats, including the following Flash shorts – Salad Bars by Mukpuddy, Weddings by Doogtoons, Dating by Animax Entertainment and Death by Bernard Derriman.
Celebrating Oral Health Month, New Zealand’s
Studio 2 program recently unleashed The Adventures of the Colgate Taste Buddies Competition. Kids were challenged to create a comic strip featuring the Colgate Taste Buddies, and the winning submission would be animated by Mukpuddy, the New Zealand-based Flash-animation studio.
The winners were Liam and Rachel Thompson, and after their character designs were polished by the Muks, the short went into a blindingly-fast 2 week production. You can see pre-production materials over at the Mukpuddy blog and below is the resulting animated short.
The gang from New Zealand, Mukpuddy,
have been giving us fairly steady stream of Flash-animated episodes lately, and today is no different. ‘In the Deep End’ is the 3rd episode (MOV) of ‘Sparkle Friends,’ and this one features burping, high-dives and, or course, barfing.
