The 18th episode of Dick Figures is an homage to what I feel is the best action movie of all time – Raiders. In 1981, Speilberg and Lucas teamed up to bring us a legendary film that had everything – action, romance, booby-traps and Nazis. Everything except one critical element…. poop. That’s all been repaired, thanks to Sex Marks the Spot:
The very first Dick Figures music video is never going to get made – unless you help! Ed and Zack, the creators of the huge online hit Dick Figures, are inviting artists and fans of the series to help make the video. Along with the rest of team at Mondo Media, I’ve been helping upload 41 short clips of the song onto the web. Pick one or several, and animate on top of the audio using the theme “Rap Video.” Use any medium you want (Flash, stop-motion, CG, etc), so long as it’s animation, and upload your finished animation(s) by the August 18th deadline. The best animated pieces will be inserted into the official video and full credit will be given to each artist. Read more on the official rules page.
Thank you Richard Dawkins for creating the word “meme,” and burning Pedobear, Trololo and All Your Base into our brains. Those particular memes might be the only ones NOT stuffed into this new episode of Dick Figures, titled Y U So Meme?
The latest installment of Dick Figures set sail last week, hoisting up an homage to summertime pirate-themed blockbusters. And in true Dick Figures style, the episode is also an homage to pina coladas, sushi and breasts. The 16th episode of the series, titled Captain Red Rum & The Pina Colada Armada, was released along with the sound track to Season 1 – now available on iTunes.
Back in 2009, Comedy Central announced that they were developing a new animated series “featuring “30 Rock” star Judah Friedlander as a wacked out gypsy cab driver whose great ambition in life is to top everyone around him.” It was created by comedian Jordan Rubin and co-developed by Six Point Harness Studios. Gypsy Cab never made it out of development, but some development animation was produced. Here’s two segments that Rubin recently unveiled:
Tracy Morgan
